Introduced by Captain W.Evans in 1834, this gambit was described as "a gift of the gods to a languishing chess world." White sacifices the b-pawn in return for quick development. The play is complicated and tricky, with both sides getting their shots. Enjoy these games and, after you play through them, give the Evans a try against your regular chess partner!
